Should you convert JPG to PNG or WebP?
Changing a JPG to another format cannot restore detail already lost to JPEG compression. The best output depends on whether you need broad editing support or a modern web format.

What happens to photo orientation?
The correct orientation is baked into the pixels before re-encoding, so portrait photos come out upright rather than sideways.
Is there a size or batch limit?
25 MB and 40 megapixels per photo, up to 20 files per batch.
Does converting to PNG recompress my photo?
PNG re-encodes the decoded pixels losslessly, so no further compression artifacts are added. However, any quality already lost to the original JPG's compression cannot be restored.
Can I convert to more than one format at once?
No. Choose one target format per run. Process the same batch again with a different target if you need both.
Why did WebP conversion fail?
Some Safari versions can't encode WebP from a canvas. When that happens the tool reports it directly instead of silently saving the wrong format.
